I was watching the CBS News yesterday and learned an interesting fact about race. Race does not exist in humans genetically. If a scientist were to look at two humans genetic make up, they could not be able to tell the difference between them. Yes, there is a difference between one person to another. But, really if you think about it. There is a difference between all of us. Just as personality traits are passed down from our parents, so are our physical appearence. In order for race to be recognized scientifically there would have to genetic differences amoung the human race that makes one race genetically different from the other. Scientists have never been able to find a genetic difference in humans that seperates one race from another. Genetically speaking, we are all the same. Race is more cultural, political and socialogical concept in society and that is how it should be. In the scientific sense, the world would be color blind. Scientifically, there is one race, the human race and that is how is should be.
This is so interesting. I didn't get to watch the news yesterday but it surprises me. Racism is based on the idea that one race is somehow superior to the other. Hopefully this discovery will lessen discrimination.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, it will. But, some people will just find and excuse not to believe it. Thank you for stopping by. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, finally they are confirming what I always knew in my heart. We are all the same we just look like our families. This is good news.
