This is a difficult one, it's a grey area that most people just don't know what to do. I don't like what he is preaching, I find the man repulsive. But, did Dearborn step on his Constitutional Rights? I think there needs to be an ordinance put into place prohibiting people or groups from expressing hate. Allow them to hold there meetings or protests without publicly expressing hate. Until there is an ordinance against publicly expressing hate, it makes it a sticky situation trying to prevent people or groups from protesting and expressing hate. But, the people in the crowd were being hypocrites by being there and protesting him speaking when they began throwing shoes and water bottles at the Pastor. If they were going to protest him being there, it should have been done peacefully. I think the city of Dearborn is only adding fuel to the fire. They could have originally said yes, with limitations and used what ordinances they could to prevent the protest from getting too large or to keep him from burning the Koran. If they allowed him to hold it in the median in front of the Mosque, where he originally wanted to hold the protest. They could of prevented him from starting any fires and then prevented the protest from getting too large, because of the size of the area. They could of simply said, if you start a fire, you will be arrested for starting a fire in a place where fires can not be started. The could have prevented the Media from getting in, because of the size of the area and the traffic. Now, the city of Dearborn is looking at a law suit they can't afford, because the situation wasn't handled correctly without stepping on someone's constitutional rights. If they had let him hold his protest without the press, there would have been less people there and less media attention. All they are doing is making him stronger. The media and city of Dearborn is feeding right out of his hands. All they are doing is giving him the media attention he wants, he knew by coming up here with a high Arab American population, he would make it to the world news. It's called cheap advertisement.

MLK Bomb Suspect Faces Life In Prison
Kevin Harpham |
Kevin Harpham, 36 was arrested at his home in Colville, Washington, on March 9 accused of planting a backpack bomb along the parade route of a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration was newly charged on Thursday with committing federal hate crimes. The three-page superseding indictment charges that Harpham tried to use the backpack bomb to injure individuals attending the parade, because of their "actual or perceived race, color and national origin." Harpham was also accused of using a destructive device to commit a hate crime. If convicted, Harpham faces life in prison. Harpham pleaded not guilty to charges of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and possessing an improvised explosive device. 1,500 people who attended the parade were re-routed after the back pack containing an explosive devise was discovered.
Officials from the Southern Poverty Law Center, an Alabama-based civil rights group, said Harpham was a member of the neo-Nazi National Alliance in 2004.Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Funny Warning Labels
Funny warning labels. Do they really need to warn us about some of these warnings? Believe it or not they do need to put some of these warnings on labels, because some people will attempt doing some of the crazy things on the labels. People who suffer from a pica disorder will eat unusual things, such as soap, rocks, paper, or even toilet paper. Then there is the case where some people lack common sense.
Some people do actually have an addition to sleeping with a blow dryer running. One woman severely burned herself while doing it. |
That would be a difficult one to attempt. I'm sure someone has tried. |

Never Turn Your Cheek To Ignorance
Apparently, my post yesterday "The KKK Is Coming To Your Town" sparked a little anger in someone. That's okay, because it is supposed to spark some feelings. Hopefully, they are feelings of "Maybe it's time to do something about." This person subscribes to the theory that if you ignore something it goes away. Ignoring a problem does not make the problem go away by far. Did ignoring Racial Segregation make the problem go away? No, it didn't. It took people like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. standing up and uniting people for change to make a difference. Ignoring the KKK has not made the problem go away either. They are gaining strength and recruiting more than ever now that there is an African American President in office. They don't recognize it's a great leap for mankind. They are holding more rallies to recruit our young people and recruiting our young people is not as hard as you think. There are a lot of teens out there looking to belong to something or fit in somewhere. They use their teens to recruit other teens who are lonely and need friends. It is eating them up inside that a black man is running the country they live in and they are trying to prevent it from happening again by recruiting more people to the KKK. More members for the KKK means more people to vote against a black man running for office again.
I am in no way promoting the KKK by writing posts about them. I am trying to bring awareness to the problem. If the KKK was trying to hold a rally in my town, believe me I would be on the phone with city hall and the police department in an attempt to make it more difficult for them to hold rallies where I live. But, sitting by and taking a "lets pretend they don't exist approach" would be the last thing I would do and I hope that would be what others would do also. The KKK effects everyone. What about when they tried bombing the people (including children) who were participating in the Martin Luther King March this year? If no one was aware the KKK had made threats and pretended they didn't make them. Then the bomb would have went off and innocent people would have been killed and injured. The fact the KKK is taking a terrorist approach is pretty scary. The fact that they are willing to harass and kill people for their cause is scary. It doesn't sound like a problem that should be ignored.
If people are offended by my blog promoting cultural and racial diversity, then they should just move along, because I will continue to write against hate groups and discrimination. Ignoring a problem does not make the the problem go away, it only gives them the power they need and the room to grow. Take a good look at my children, they are not white according the KKK's definition. I am fighting to make a better world for my children and other children to grow up in. Change begins with one person at a time. If I can change the thinking of one person, then I have made a difference. The world we live in is a colorful world, being different from one another is what makes us part of the human race.
